Call for proposals of papers and posters to be presented

C40 – The entities/identities of the Atantic and mediterranean Bronze age

Primary this session aims to promote the debate on the concepts of “identities” and “entities”, social structures and political economies, in the geo-political values complex mosaic of the Iberian Peninsula, as well to monitor the main interactions with the Atlantic and Mediterranean Europe. Secondly, it aims to promote the analysis and interpretation of artefacts, ideas, behaviour of peninsular indigenous communities, and the processes of their restrict and overall engagement with other European societies. Finally, it seek to establish multifunctional, scientific parameters for the known regional Iberian Peninsula Bronze age diversity. Usually, this so it is defined by opinions from several scientific families and therefore divided into two regional areas: Atlantic Bronze/Atlantic Tradition, and Iberian Bronze/Iberian Tradition.

The COLLOQUIUM C40 will be organised by 4 coordinators ( Maria de La Salete da Ponte, Departamento de Gestão Turística e Cultural, do Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, Portugal - saleteponte@ ipt.pt; Pedro Aguyao de Hoyos, Departamento de Prehistoria y Arqueologia da Universidad de Granada, Espanha - paguayo@ugr.es; Celso de Sousa Figueiredo Gomes, Departamento de GeoCiências da Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal - cgomes@geo.ua.pt; Manuel João Senos Matias, Departamento de GeoCiências, da Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal - mmatias@geo.ua.pt), with two blocks (sub-sections):

1. Section (Block 1) – Materials and Methods

Materials: Includes all the analytical techniques and methods that allow both the dating and the physical and chemical characterization.

Methods: Includes all the exploration techniques, that is, Aerophotograph Survey, Satellite Methods and Applical Geophysic, and Photogrammetry.

2. Section (Block 2) - Societies of the Atlantic and Mediterranean Bronze Age (Includes debate on the concepts of identities and entities, social structures and political economies in the geo-political values complex mosaic of the Iberian Peninsula versus Atlantic and Mediterranean European.

Proceedings

The publication of originals presented in the sessions, will be edited under the form of a thematic book, and with a supervision of the National Committee of the Congress.

Lectures and Posters

The thèmes of the papers and the posters proposed are subject to the approval of the coordinators this COLLOQUIUM.

Alls proposals for lectures should not exceed 4 pages, and must be accompanied by an abstract in English/Portuguese.

Each proposal of paper also shall include: title of paper; abstract (10 lines); 3 or 5 key-words; name(s) of autor (s); present position and brief c.v. (10 lines) of the author (s).

The deadline for abstracts is 31 December 2005

CONGRESS participants desiring to present a poster an also requested to send an abstract.

The posters should not exceed 90cms in width and will include a maximum of two panels.

Tanks in advance for your kind interest the second circular will be sent during March 2006 to all participants registred in the XV CONGRESS.
